2000 Strips!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been this long. I’ve officially now done 2000 strips. It doesn’t feel that long, and frankly, it’s kind of weird to think that I’ve created something 2000 times. In the end, though, I am very thankful to have such a great audience who has stuck with the strip for so long, and to have new readers each and every day! Here’s to the next 2000!
PS: If you missed the 2000th strip, check it out here
Year 4 Anthology NOW AVAILABLE!
Hot on the heels of the release of the Complete Year Three Anthology, the Forth Year anthology of the famed comic strip is now available!, and if your curious you can even take a look inside.
(Of course the first three years of anthologies are still available)
What People are Saying about Oh My Gods!
“This is some seriously clever occult humor! Hey, someone had to take the piss out of NeoPaganism. Leave it to Shivian Balaris to apply his observations and critiques in the form of entertaining comic art. For a lighthearted, fun, and educational perspective of our weird and Witchy ways, Oh My Gods! is the place to turn.”
Raven Digitalis, author of Shadow Magick Compendium & Goth Craft
Litha Theme!
Since I won’t be here during official Litha (I’ll be at PSG) I turned on the Litha theme for the site. Remember, you can always change your themes in your user settings!
Year 3 Anthology NOW AVAILABLE!
The third year anthology of the famed comic strip is now available!, and if your curious you can even take a look inside.
(Of course the Complete Year One Anthology and Complete Year Two Anthology are also still available!)
What People are Saying about Oh My Gods!
“An irreverent romp through our modern pagan culture … its humor spotlights the foibles and fun of being pagan in the 21st century … it always adds a smile to my day.”
Dana Haefne, owner of Kamala Health & Beauty
Latest Updates
Not only are there new strips for all of May, but I’ve updated some of the site’s functionality as well. Hopefully now some of the problems with Captcha (et al) will be gone. Let me know if anything is broken the moment you find it broken using the contact page.
Lastly, due to the number of problems it was causing, the Fan Map has been moved to it’s own page in the Fans section. Enjoy!

I think Ben and Jerry's Vermonty Python Ice cream would be a more spiritual expeiriance xp It already tastes godly.

What else...
Could you honestly expect from Victor. I sometimes wonder just how many times he was dropped on his head as a child. And... in an unrelated note, could someone tell me from what authors and publishers I could buy reputable books on wicca? One of my friends is interested in practicing it, and I'm actually interested in learning about it.
Pixie Sticks... also known as color-coated crack.

I have one called 'my great big book of everything' "Wicca: The Complete Craft" by D.J. Conway.
But then, not everyone likes DJ Conway...
To Begin With
I started off with the 10th Anniversary Edition of "The Spiral Dance" by Starhawk about 17 years ago. Good exercises. Scott Cunningham's books are easy to read. Buckland's books read like stereo instructions but Ray always did thorough research. I think everyone should read "A Witch's Bibles Complete" by Janet and Stewart Ferrar and "Lady Sheba's Book of Shadows" by Lady Sheba for historical perspective. Then do what our ancestors did, go out, find a secluded spot in the wilderness and meditate on the spirit of nature and remember that the gods write what they write in the world around us and not in books. All the books can do is show you where to look and how to read what's there.

I've always found...
that Scott Cunningham probably does the best job of introducing the subject in his books *Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner* and *Living Wicca: A Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner*. He has a great, easy to understand, common sense approach to the subject. Following that, Christopher Penczak's *Inner Temple of Witchcraft* and *Outer Temple of Witchcraft* are also good.

Favorite Book
My absolute favorite book is "Drawing down the Moon" by Margot Adler. iT is what first attracted me to Wicca.
Cunningham's Earth Power:
Cunningham's Earth Power: Techniques of Natural Magic and it's sequel, Earth, Air, Fire & Water: More Techniques of Natural Magic, are really good beginner books as well.

My top three...
recommended authors are Scott Cunningham, Raymond Buckland, and Christopher Penczak. If you want to delve into the Tarot, I'd suggest Ellen Cannon Reed or DJ Conway & Sirona Knight. Their decks aren't exactly for beginners, but their works are real easy to understand.

kid's got a point! by cracky he may be onto something!
well, techincally, you *can*
well, techincally, you *can* make an ice-cream shaped energy construct...
Can I have a banana split of
Can I have a banana split of power instead? Strawberry ice cream to symbolize birth, vanilla to symbolize life, and chocolate to symbolize death. The banana symbolizes the divine that is around us and within us. Its the perfect magical desert!
and the cherry is...?
when it comes to dessert analogies, this is one of the better ones. Unfortunately though, I hate banana splits. I don't really like banana as a dessert. Which means no Chocolate dipped bananas or banana Runts either.

May love, darkness and kittens follow you wherever you go. Mau!
mmmm
Ice cream.....that sounds like a good idea right now......*Goes to get some ice cream*
Finally!!
I just caught up with all the strips I missed in the past year!
I think there should be a Hispanic character who practices Santeria. Maybe name him Jesus if he's a guy.
